Join us for an immersive nighttime walking tour at the Ovingham Level Crossing Removal project—an award-winning example of how transport infrastructure can be reimagined through a human-centric lens. Delivered by Arup, this interactive "walkshop" will explore how lighting, safety, and inclusive design choices can transform public spaces after dark.
Guided by Arup’s urban design and transport planning team—with special insights from the project’s Aboriginal advisor—you’ll experience firsthand how Connecting to Country principles were embedded in the project through meaningful collaboration.
This unique participatory learning session will encourage conversation, reflection, and ideas for applying evidence-based design approaches to future nighttime infrastructure projects. Torches will be provided—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to see the night in a new light.
Limited to 30 participants. Participants will be asked to gather at the information desk after the Conference Happy Hour and will be escorted as a group, via train to Ovingham Station approximately 10 mins from Adelaide Central Station. More information will be provided on registration.
Join fellow Emerging Professionals on Thursday 4 September in the Exhibition Space for coffee, conversation, and a light breakfast – plus the chance to win a prize thanks to our networking partner, Austraffic!
This informal, complimentary session is exclusively for EPN delegates and is the perfect way to meet new people, connect with peers, and enjoy a fun transport-themed guessing game in a relaxed setting.
The Heart Foundation is offering a one-hour Walkshop on Thursday 4 September. This is a great opportunity to find out more about their evidence-based Healthy Active by Design resources for traffic and transport outcomes which support heart health. Join us for a walk in the neighbourhood of the conference venue, where you will be guided through a practical activity to help you apply the Heart Foundation’s active living principles in your projects.
Spaces are limited and available for AITPM conference delegates only.
Please register for the walk at the link below and we’ll provide further information closer to the time.
Kickstart your conference day with a guided Walking Tour that brings the AITPM theme "Movement for Thriving Communities" to life. Hosted by VivaCity, this immersive experience showcases how VivaCity’s AI-powered sensors are shaping safer, more efficient, and more liveable streets through real-time data on road user behaviour, active travel, and near miss detection.
Attendees will walk the Light Square precinct where sensors are already live, offering a unique view into the data that’s helping the council’s transport teams design better-connected, people-first communities.
